November 2025 Round Up

16 December 2025

ACT

From industry recognition and fantastic site scores, to welcoming new colleagues and coming together for our Christmas party, November gave us plenty to celebrate!

ACT in the Press

ACT’s expertise was recognised across three leading industry publications in November, each exploring how considered construction balances heritage, performance and innovation. In Architecture Magazine, Operations Director Matthew Reeve shared our structured approach to roofing in heritage and high-end projects which relies on early assessment, careful material selection and close collaboration (more about Matt’s article).

The emphasis on care and craft continued in Refurb & Renovation News, where Senior Site Manager Johnny Claydon explored the challenge of delivering modern comfort within historic spaces through sensitive bathroom design (read Johnny’s advice on page 11).

Building Design featured a piece by ACT’s co-founder Cameron de Wys on invisible luxury, examining the discreet integration of complex systems that defines super-prime homes – and the challenges that this presents for project teams (see Cam’s piece).

Together, these articles capture the depth of ACT’s experience and our methodical, detail-driven approach – and we were delighted to share our perspective with the wider industry.

An Evening to Remember

November also gave us the chance to come together in person and celebrate with our wider ACT community. We marked the start of the festive season with our Christmas Party at the stunning One Great George Street. The occasion brought together staff, consultants and clients to reflect on a successful year and enjoy a great evening in a magnificent setting. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it a memorable night – we’re excited for what we will achieve together in 2026.

Spotlight on Sites

The upbeat mood continued onsite in November with news of excellent Considerate Constructors Scheme inspection scores, following two recent visits to our Holland Park projects. Congratulations to the teams involved!

Last month marked a milestone moment for one of our projects in Notting Hill, with the installation of the main staircase extending across four levels of the house. This required careful coordination and absolute accuracy, particularly at lower ground floor level where a split-level bridge interfaces with differing ceiling and landing heights.

Once complete, the staircase will be a defining architectural feature at the heart of the home, showcasing a continuous oak handrail, antique brass spindles, and a bespoke carpet runner.  Following the main staircase installation, timber flooring has been completed to the lobby and stair hall, and new metal external doors have been incorporated to the family study and media room on the lower ground floor, representing another successful step forward for this project.

In Belgravia, progress has continued at pace in a beautiful Grade II listed property, with multiple trades working in tandem. Plastering has been completed to the cinema room, pantry and breakfast station. Chevron timber flooring is in its finishing stages in the formal reception room, while joinery installation and decoration are well underway throughout the house. Tiling works have commenced in the back-of-house kitchen, and waterproofing has been completed to the master bathroom in readiness for underfloor heating.

Welcome to New Colleagues

ACT welcomed several new colleagues in November. Danielle Lordan joined as Operations Manager, bringing extensive experience in super-prime construction. Danielle will play a key role in streamlining operations and supporting the expansion of our delivery teams. Daniel Fenesan came on board as Head of Finance, combining Chartered Accountant expertise with strong commercial awareness gained at a leading housebuilder. Gurdip Singh joined as Temporary Finance Assistant, and Katy McGuire took up the position of Executive Assistant to our co-founders. We’re thrilled to have them with us, and look forward to their contributions as ACT continues to grow.

Thanks for reading. We’ll see you again for one last roundup of 2025!
