ACT

In July we talked teamwork and celebrated the special camaraderie that we have here at ACT.

We’re extremely proud of our team and know that our company’s success hinges on ACT’s people. Teamwork ensures we maintain the highest quality of workmanship, on-time project delivery and robust health and safety at all times – all with the benefit of knowing that we’re looking out for each other. Working as a team leads to better outcomes for our clients and also for us individually. We get satisfaction from collaborating around a shared goal and appreciating the complementary skills and abilities that each person brings when achieving it. At ACT, it’s true that “Together Everyone Achieves More”!

To celebrate our collaborative spirit, July’s ImpACT award honoured outstanding teamwork, and we’re delighted to congratulate Sam Digby, who received gift vouchers as a token of appreciation for his contributions. Sam always makes time for co-workers on site, encourages others to get involved and provides continuous support along the way. Thanks for being an amazing team player Sam!

Moving from work teams to sports teams, we enjoyed lots of friendly internal competition recently during the “ACT Olympics”!

This was an opportunity for colleagues to participate in a range of fun events and cheer each other on. There were enticing prizes up for grabs, including paid leave, gift vouchers, Eurostar vouchers for a trip to Paris for the top individual winner, and a site lunch for the overall winning team. From precision tasks such as the two-hit nail challenge and speed typing, through to testing our manual dexterity by flipping cups and throwing balls, there were plenty of opportunities to shine! See how we got on (including the highs and lows!) in the video highlights on our Instagram page.

Staying with the theme of team culture, we had two fantastic opportunities to come together last month. At our Town Hall we heard company wide and department updates, looked ahead to future plans, and Directors answered our quick-fire questions in the Q&A session. The team bonding continued when our Director Alister and his family kindly invited us into their home for ACT’s Annual Summer BBQ. We had lovely weather, lots of laughs, enjoyed delicious food, and the kids (and those young at heart!) were treated to a bouncy castle, garden games and a pool to cool down.

Our team grew again as we said hello to eleven new faces. In the usual ACT tradition, we got to know our new colleagues a little better by asking them a range of questions including their go-to karaoke song and a unique feature their dream house would contain. We’re looking forward to hearing renditions of ‘Living on a Prayer’ by Bonjovi and ‘Mr. Brightside’ by The Killers! With life goals including a private swimming pool, a roof top cinema, an indoor ski slope and dedicated gelato kitchen, we have plenty to discuss with our new team mates… A hearty welcome to Amanda Dunstan (Finance Manager), Allan Moloney (Senior Site Manager), Kyle Smith (Buyer), Michael Crompton (Carpenter), Taine Connolly (Labourer), Charlie Stock (Handyman), Attila Frolich (Decorator), Carlos Pingiotti (Handyman), Dragos Doran (Decorator), Isaac Boyce (Carpenter), and Szilard Kala (Decorator).

Thanks for reading, have a great rest of the summer and see you next month!
