ACT

Teamwork was on display at every level in August: keeping projects moving forward during the holiday season, welcoming in new talent and showcasing our team spirit at ACT’s first ever Sports Day!

Keeping up Momentum Together
The holiday season highlighted the power of teamwork: we valued not just the opportunity to rest and recharge – but also the strength of team relationships that makes stepping back possible. When colleagues take a break, they do so with the confidence that projects will continue progressing to the same high standard. It reminded us that success is never about individual effort alone: it’s also about the collective commitment we bring to each other and to our work.

As our Director commented on returning from a holiday in New  Zealand “To be able to step away and trust such a capable team with something of this scale makes me so proud.”

Celebrating Our People
Each new addition to ACT brings fresh skills and new perspectives that make our team even stronger. August was especially busy with several new colleagues joining across different areas of the organisation, from sites to Head  Office…

A warm welcome to Alex Graffeo (Handyman), Mckenzie Oliver (Carpenter), Joe Clark (Senior Quantity Surveyor), Maisie Mansell (Finance Assistant), Filipa Paixao (Design Manager), Chris Scurr (Senior Quantity Surveyor), Lia Trunchion (Marketing Executive), and Lara (Office Manager). Together, they reflect the breadth of expertise that keeps ACT moving forward!

We were also delighted to announce the promotion of Tom Parsons to Head of Pre-Construction. This well-deserved step reflects Tom’s hard work in shaping our Estimating Department into a fully established Pre-Construction Team, ready to support ACT’s growth and evolution.

Spotlight on Sites: Craftsmanship in Belgravia
Teamwork on site extends well beyond ACT: it relies on close coordination and clear communication with our specialist supply chain to deliver the unique elements that bring each design vision to life. Our two Belgravia projects illustrated this point in August – both historic buildings needing restoration of heritage features. From ornate ceilings and cornicing to finely detailed friezes, every element was handled with care in liaison with the Grosvenor Estates team to preserve their history.

Beyond heritage restoration, we’ve worked closely with our project partners to source an array of custom-made items – from bespoke joinery and rooflights to a unique steel kitchen island. Every detail depends on trusted partnerships and precise teamwork to stay on schedule and deliver the exceptional results we pride ourselves on.

From Summer Sports to our Autumn Town Hall
Last month, we put teamwork into practice with some light-hearted games at ACT’s Sports Day. This was a brilliant opportunity to enjoy some fun (and friendly rivalry) together in the sunshine!

That same spirit of collaboration will carry into September as we look forward to our upcoming Town Hall: a chance to come together in person, share updates, celebrate successes and learn from one another. It promises to be another celebration of the fantastic teamwork behind ACT!
Join us next month to find out more.
